Transportation from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Pasadena

The International Offices cannot assist with airport pick-ups.

In some cases, Caltech international student clubs and organizations may be able to arrange airport pick-ups for degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students.  These arrangements must be made directly with the student organizations.

The Graduate Student Council (GSC) offers assistance with transportation from the airport to Caltech for degree-seeking graduate students.  Please visit the GSC website to learn more.

Shuttle Companies. The Caltech Procurement office offers discount agreements with different shuttle companies. You can find shuttle services (pay in cash or credit card) outside of the Baggage Claim area at LAX. The price varies between $17-$35. Popular 24-hour shuttle services to Pasadena include: SuperShuttle (with Caltech discount code), Prime Time Shuttle, ShuttleWizard and Roadrunner.

Taxi: you can also find a taxi and the price varies between $50-$80 from LAX to Pasadena.

Find a Postdoc Buddy. Caltech and JPL postdocs can enroll in the Caltech Postdoc Association (CPA) before arriving at Caltech and find a Buddy through the Buddy Program. You may be lucky and your buddy will pick you up when you arrive at LAX.
