JPL International Office

Services provided by the JPL International Office

The JPL International Office provides technical immigration support to the Lab and to individuals whose immigration status is a part of their JPL appointment (e.g., JPL regular employees, fee/no fee consultants, JPL Postdoctoral Scholars, Distinguished Visiting Scientists, Visiting Independent Advisors).

We prepare and file the underlying immigration paperwork on behalf of our international employees, visitors, and the Lab with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS, formerly “INS”), the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Labor, as applicable. We also offer guidance on the acquisition of U.S. visas for our international employees and visitors at JPL.

In addition, we ensure that the Lab complies with all U.S. immigration employment-related rules and regulations and assist individuals in maintaining their legal status while in the United States under the visa sponsorship of JPL.

We currently prepare and maintain documentation for the following categories of employment-based visas: B-1, H-1B, J-1, O-1, TN, and Permanent Employment
(Green Card) status.
