ISP International Impact Award
The ISP International Impact Award recognizes individuals who have made important contributions to celebrate and to support a diverse and thriving international community at Caltech. Established in 2021 by International Student Programs, this award honors exceptional individuals who have made sustained and deep contributions to the mission of international and cross-cultural exchange and to the betterment of the international student experience at Caltech and beyond.

2023 Recipient: Ahmed Soliman
Ahmed Soliman has been a bright light since his first day on campus. His initial struggles of living and learning in a second language never dampened his spirit nor deterred him from his scientific goals. Ahmed greets every day and every person with a broad smile and an infectious laugh. He is as at ease with Nobel Laureates as he is with his own family. He has taken the time to share his research as well as his culture through campus leadership roles for International Student Orientation and Graduate Student Orientation plus presentations for programs such as International Education Week, Caltech World Fest, and Culture of Language. Beyond campus, Ahmed has entertained and inspired auditoriums full of eager high school students in his home country of Egypt to share how others can pursue education abroad. ISP thanks Ahmed for his volunteerism, his leadership, and his friendship. Watch his Everhart Distinguished Graduate Student Lecture and learn more about Ahmed Soliman, PhD in Engineering & Applied Science 2023.

2022 Recipient: Eduardo da Veiga Beltrame
Eduardo da Veiga Beltrame has been a campus leader, a disrupter for good, a champion for others, and a trusted friend who is almost never seen without his ISP "Hello" t-shirts. Eduardo is engaged, witty, challenging, and humorous. When Eduardo finds a cause he is passionate about, he takes the charge seriously and educates and engages others to get informed and get involved. He served multiple times on ISP's orientation leader team, served on the Graduate Student Council, and has dedicated time and money to support education and social efforts in his home country of Brazil. It is an honor and a privilege to know and to learn from Eduardo da Veiga Beltrame, PhD in Bioengineering 2022.

2021 Recipient: Peyman Ayoubi
Peyman Ayoubi has been an advocate for other international students and a strong supporter of the larger campus community at Caltech since his arrival in 2015. He volunteered multiple years as an orientation leader, built camaraderie on the ISP summer softball team, presented about his home country of Iran during Caltech World Fest, and shared his culture and inspiration for engineering with local youth's 4-H Club. Peyman is someone ISP could always count on anytime help was needed with programming or services for the international student community and beyond. ISP thanks Peyman for his partnership, generosity, humor, and commitment to Caltech. Congratulations to Peyman Ayoubi, PhD in Civil Engineering 2021.
